Restoration stated to have been carried out to original specification
Bodywork restored and repainted by a professional in 2023
Several major mechanical works carried out over the last three years
Owned by the current seller since 2018
What makes it special
Introduced in 1938, the Peugeot 202 carries the streamlined lines characteristic of the "Sochaux fuselage" style, already adopted by the 302 and 402. More compact than the 302, it is notably distinguished by its close-set headlamps behind the grille. After production was interrupted during the Second World War, it returned to the assembly lines in 1945 and remained in the range until 1949.
This 1948 example, painted black with a red pinstripe and fitted with a beige interior, has been restored during the current period of ownership, which began in 2018. According to the seller, the bodywork was restored and repainted by a professional in 2023.
Several mechanical components have also been replaced over the last three years, including the petrol pump, the ignition system, the steering box, the exhaust and the rear brakes. Routine maintenance has continued, with particular attention paid to lubrication points. The car is kept in a garage, under a protective cover.
The serial numbers are stated to match. The car also has a French historic (collector's) registration document. IMG_5403 GUENOUX.jpeg5.96 MB

✓ We want the transaction to go smoothly, just as you do, which is why cars and motorcycles registered in the United Kingdom and listed for sale on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to verify that they carry no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and that they are not subject to a financial encumbrance, so you can bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as written off following a total loss at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic, and we provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status, and it is always worthwhile carrying out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
