The Appeal

A profound leap forward from MG's T Series cars, MGA is one of the most celebrated British sports cars of the 1950s. Finished in Tartan Red over Black with red piping, and in desirable right-hand drive, this 1500 Roadster sports a particularly appealing specification.
This example has an impressive story to tell. Its second keeper was the late Mr Greig Hamilton-Smith, widely regarded as one of South Africa's leading MG authorities, who carried out a restoration described by the vendor as comprehensive, with no costs spared. Having spent over 50 years in the dry Highveld climate of Johannesburg, the car benefits from a dry state of preservation, and the vendor describes it as straight and well-presented.
Fitted with a mohair hood, chrome spoked wheels, Lucas fog and spot lamps, a badge bar, luggage rack, tonneau cover, and a leather-trimmed interior, this MG A is well-appointed. Fresh rubber has been fitted, and the vendor states it drives very well. With just two former registered keepers from new, this is an opportunity to acquire a well-provenanced example of one of the great British roadsters.
