Comprehensively restored in 2020, including floor pans and chassis rails
Retains its original early-type 'moulded foot' engine
Registered as a collection vehicle in France
Accompanied by a large history file with invoices and digital documentation
The Appeal
The early days of the Beetle were a coveted era, and none more so than the rare 'moulded foot' examples. These scarce machines feature the dynamo stand cast as a single component with the engine block; something that only remained the case up until the early days of the '60s, when the company made its move into more modular engine castings.
Originally from Portugal, this impressive baby-blue Beetle underwent a comprehensive restoration in 2020 that addressed the structural essentials, including new floor pans and chassis rails, and it is now registered as a collection vehicle in France.
The vendor tell us that the engine has been maintained by a marque specialist and is in excellent running order. It is driven year-round and is said to start reliably in all seasons, brake well and track straight. A service was carried out in April 2026, and significant work was completed in late 2024, both supported by invoices.
A large file of invoices and a USB key documenting the restoration accompany the sale.IMG_0956 Quesney.jpeg7.75 MB
