The Appeal
Taking its handsome, slab-sided style from the fabulous Lincoln Continental, the ‘67 Fury used Chrysler’s full size C-body that enabled the marketing team to quite reasonably pitch it as ‘a living room on wheels.’ These cars are amongst the best of the more understated 60s Detroit era.
We’re told that this Dark Copper metallic ‘67 remained with its first keeper for 50 years, always being garaged and with all maintenance carefully recorded. It is said to be largely original, save for some localised repainting. The matching bronze American Racing five spokes, with their polished rims, are also not original but neatly suit the car’s aesthetic. As a plush Fury III the interior features textured vinyl and fabric trim, here in matching light tan and all in very good order.
The car arrived in the UK in 2017 and was bought by the current keeper in 2021. It has been used regularly but sparingly according to MOT records. We can’t verify the displayed mileage, but the previous seller suggested it was accurate, which you can check in photos. Since buying the car it has received a full service and carburettor overhaul. The engine bay has also been improved and the car fitted with a period radio.
With its optional factory 5.2L 318CI V8, this stylish slice of Americana has the pace to match the considerable space.
