The Appeal
Few cars distil the essence of motorsport quite like a race-prepared Lotus Super 7. Arguably the only production road car designed purely by Colin Chapman himself, stripped of all superfluity and built around Chapman's philosophy of performance through lightness, the Super 7 in competition trim is a formidable machine, and this 1968 example arrives with the history to back that up.
Previously campaigned by John Rees over a period of approximately 25 years, this car has been comprehensively uprated for serious competition use. The vendor describes the car as fabulous to drive, with great handling and power delivery.
Since acquisition from Rees, the car has been kept in an underfloor heated secure garage. The vendor states that it has been maintained to a high standard. For those with ambitions beyond the circuit, a V5 and the parts necessary to convert the car for road use are included.

SellerMost would rate the car and chassis as in excellent condition throughout rather than very good. If you require further photos of the cars underside or engine bay please confirm. The highly polished aluminium bodywork is in excellent condition as are the specially lightweight white painted GRP wings and nose cone. Also there is a photo of descriptive text missing which begins ‘Full race, all steel, dry sump Craig Beck built 1600 Lotus twin cam engine …….’ to include. Perhaps this could be used to provide more detail to your descriptive text? The car was last raced in November 2025 by the current owner at Silverstone where it won its class.
