The Appeal
The Fiat 126 was brought to market as the natural successor to the iconic 500. Subtly updating their styling book and refining the much-loved hardware, this was a gently upgraded example of the legendary European city car. It became a particularly huge presence in Poland, where it quickly gained the nickname 'Maluch' - 'Little One'. Early Prima Serie examples are increasingly sought after by collectors for that austere, eminently drivable simplicity.
This coral red example was first registered in January 1975 and is reported to have remained with a single keeper for its entire life - a span of over 51 years. The vendor describes it as highly original, yet far from neglected: the engine has been overhauled and the brakes rebuilt. It's remarkably scarce to come across an unrestored Fiat 126 with single-keeper history, and we're sure this one will garner plenty of interest in auction. 20260814_130439.jpg4.01 MB

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
