The R107-generation SL remains one of Mercedes-Benz's most celebrated grand tourers, and the 350SL with its free-revving 3.5-litre V8 arguably the best engine in the range. These cars have earned a devoted following for good reason. They are robust, elegant and highly usable classics.

This 1980 example has benefited from significant investment in recent years. In 2022, it underwent extensive body repairs including replacement of the sills, boot floor, wings and various other panels, followed by a bare metal respray in this delightful period colour combination that the vendor reports always draws admiring attention.
