The Appeal
The Porsche 911 SC is considered by many to be the quintessential example of the 1980s 911, offering high performance and greater reliability from its 3.0-litre, fuel-injected aluminium ‘boxer’ engine. It was a huge success, helping to ensure that the 911 lived on far longer than envisaged by Porsche itself.
The seller states that they have owned this distinctive example since 2002, and that it has always been stored in a garage and only driven in the dry since then. During their ownership, the car has been resprayed in eye-catching Glacier Blue (L32Z) and fitted with a larger rear spoiler and polished Speedline Mistral 16-inch split-rim alloy wheels.
Other stated work includes replacement Sekurit windscreen, an engine top-end rebuild and gearbox rebuild by Redline Racing, new clutch and flywheel, stainless steel exhaust, stainless steel heat exchangers and hydraulic tensioners, and rebuilt and shot-blasted rear suspension.
Inside, the blue leather interior includes light blue piping to complement the exterior colour, and features ‘911’ treadplates.
