The Appeal
The W123 is a saloon-car masterclass: a carefully engineered three-box, four-door that would likely survive Armageddon. Its durability means that finding a survivor isn’t impossible, but likely few are as well presented and as sparingly used as this 1984 230E.
Its five keepers appear to have amassed an indicated 34,000 miles in its 42 years. We can’t verify that figure, but service and MOT records support it. The car’s condition also seems to bear it out, the Deep Blue paintwork and lovely blue velour interior looking barely used. The car is standard throughout, including body colour chrome hubcaps, save for a classic-style modern Blaupunkt stereo. Since buying the car last year, the vendor has fitted four new tyres.
The 134bhp fuel-injected 2.3L 4-cylinder petrol engine is mated to a rare 5spd manual gearbox, making this car engaging and economical. It is said to run and drive well.
The vendor says:
“The car starts on the button, runs so quietly, and drives so well. This car is a special example. I have always wanted one because my dad had one; it’s an itch I’ve always wanted to scratch, and I’ve enjoyed taking it to shows and enjoying all the attention the car gets.”

Hello, the V5 says it was used/registered overseas. Do you have more information on that? And what is the service history? The ones in the photo only run for a few years.
