By the 1980s, the 2CV was starting to show its age. Citroën therefore freshened up its much-loved model by launching several special editions, including the Charleston, the top-of-the-range model.
The Citroën 2CV remains one of the most endearing and recognisable cars ever to have hit the road. Its air-cooled flat-twin engine, ultra-supple interconnected suspension and wonderfully quirky character have earned it a loyal following that shows no sign of waning. Few cars offer such a pure and engaging driving experience with such simple mechanicals.
This 1985 example is registered in Luxembourg and has a valid roadworthy certificate. It presents particularly well, as the photographs show, and appears to have retained much of its original condition, notably its distinctive Charleston paint scheme.c630d374-4a65-497f-9a9d-5426421c6e5b jose domingos.JPG481.05 KB

This sale is subject to the Car & Classic terms and conditions. By bidding and/or making an offer, you also agree to the following:
✓ The seller is registered as a private seller, which means consumer rights under European consumer protection legislation do not apply. However, you remain covered by the Car & Classic terms and conditions.
✓ We require that non-refundable fees be paid if you are the successful bidder or if your offer is accepted. Please refer to our FAQs and terms and conditions for the specific rates.
✓ This vehicle is "sold as is", on a "as is, where is" basis and without warranty. Photos and descriptions are provided for guidance only, and it is standard practice to carry out a complete inspection of the vehicle before purchase for your own peace of mind.
✓ GST is included in the buyer's security deposit. GST may or may not be included in the final offer or bid price, as specified in the listing.
✓ We want the transaction to go smoothly, just as you do, which is why cars and motorcycles registered in the United Kingdom and listed for sale on Car & Classic are subject to an HPI check to confirm they carry no insurance database markers for damage or theft and are not subject to a finance encumbrance, so you can bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are registered as written off following a total loss at the time the listing is placed on Car & Classic and we provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) to help you. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle's status, and it is always worthwhile to carry out a full vehicle history check before making an offer on it.
✓ Buyers are responsible for collecting or arranging delivery of the vehicle. Importing vehicles may incur additional customs duties and import taxes. If you wish, we can recommend a third-party transport company that can help. For more details and to speak to the team, email auctions@carandclassic.com.
