The Appeal

With under 98,000 miles from new, this 1985 R107’s M116 3.8L engine is barely run. It is the centrepiece of this tidy, nicely specified ‘triple blue’ pre-facelift car. The blue paintwork, leather, roof and hardtop are all in good order, and it is nicely detailed with a set of ‘Mexican Hat’ alloys.

The condition is likely due to the car spending its life in the dry, desert climate of Arizona until 2025, when it returned to Europe. The vendor tells us that before it returned, it received $7,250 of mechanical work. Since arriving here, the timing chains and tensioners have been replaced.

It arrives in the Netherlands with all import duties and VAT already settled. Offered on a US title, the car has not yet undergone European inspection and will require registration by the buyer before road use — though, given its pre-1996 build date, no COC document is needed for registration within Europe.
