The Appeal
The first-generation Golf cabriolet, produced by Karmann, combines the technical base of the Golf Mk1 with a four-seat convertible body. This 1986 example is equipped with a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a five-speed manual gearbox.
The car shows 105,060 km on the odometer and is presented as a running project. The seller indicates that it starts and runs, whilst several mechanical and cosmetic elements still require restoration. A new water pump has notably been fitted and the carburettor is reported to be in good condition.
The bodywork and paint show several defects, including minor damage, traces of surface corrosion and paint requiring touch-ups. The interior also shows wear consistent with age and use, whilst the black fabric hood is reported to be in good condition despite some signs of ageing.
The car is accompanied by an independent inspection report. No service history is available, however.
