The Appeal
The Mercedes-Benz 240GD is the G-Wagen in its most honest, utilitarian form. Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4-litre diesel engine and paired with a four-speed manual gearbox, the 240GD was built first and foremost as a rugged workhorse, long before it became the symbol of the elite it is today - and examples with genuine military provenance are highly sought after by enthusiasts who appreciate the model's no-nonsense character.
This 1987 example began life as an army vehicle in Singapore before passing into single private ownership. It has since been imported to the UK and is now registered on UK plates. The bodywork has been resprayed in a metallic olive pearl green, which suits those utilitarian lines to the ground - a truly rare, purposeful machine. 12e97af87cec4c289cde697c10b9e08c champika.jpg127.01 KB
