1988 Alfa Romeo Spider S3

Pre-bids

  • £5,200 invested in mechanical upkeep by the current vendor
  • Lesser-spotted, rev-happy 1.6-litre twin cam

  • MOT valid until July 2027

The Appeal

The Alfa Romeo Spider remains one of the most iconic nameplates to roll off an Italian production line - for excellent reason. These characterful machines are nimble, responsive and engaging, with that beloved twin-cam under the bonnet proving endlessly sonorous and soulful. If the open-top roadster is an art form, the Spider could well be the masterpiece.
This 1988 example is believed to have originated in Italy before being imported and first registered in the UK in 1997. Handsomely presented in the model's near-quintessential red livery and looking very original throughout, this handsome Spider also boasts the rarer 1.6-litre engine; a rare sight outside of Italy. This engine is the more rev-happy machine and arguably much more charismatic.

We expect this car will garner plenty of interest at auction and will thrill its lucky new keeper.
