The Appeal
A front-engined, V8 Porsche? Back when the 928 arrived on the market in '77, it was a strange thing to consider. This handsome machine offered exceptional looks, excellent weight distribution and top-notch handling, while balancing plenty of luxury and comfort. It was a fierce contrast to the - it seemed - rather long-in-the-tooth 911. Indeed, Stuttgart intended for the 928 to replace their flagship.
This 1988 example has been in its current ownership for two years and remains factory standard throughout. The bodywork presents well with only minor scrapes and chips, mainly to the bumpers, while the interior was refurbished approximately ten years ago and still looks smart. The 928's aesthetics have real staying power and still feel evocative and endlessly stylish.
With an MOT valid until June 2027 and plenty of originality, this 928 is expected to attract serious interest at auction. image.png1.08 MB

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
