The appeal
The Moke was never really intended to be a military vehicle. Designed for the British Army, it was lightweight and easy to maintain, but its low ground clearance made it ill-suited to use on rough terrain. This little utility vehicle therefore found a very different audience: those who enjoy driving in fine weather. With its simplicity and recognisable silhouette, the Moke has become synonymous with coastal living and a laid-back driving experience.
This 1989 model is said to have had only two registered owners, the first of whom kept it from the time it left the factory until 2021. Purchased that year by the current owner, it underwent a restoration that included, in particular, the fitting of new blue seats, an overhaul of the electrical system and a thorough inspection of the floor and various components.
An expert assessment and valuation were also carried out in Germany prior to this work, and the report is supplied with the vehicle. Since its restoration, the Moke has been kept in Ramatuelle, in the south of France. It is said to be used for just four to six weeks each summer on the country roads around Saint-Tropez and stored under cover when not in use. The seller describes it as light, manoeuvrable and particularly enjoyable to drive.image.png1.61 MB
