The Appeal
It's a mark of just how good the XJS is that 16 years into its life it was deemed worthy of a serious rejuvenation to enable it to live even longer. These final 'facelift' cars are desirable because at their heart is the tough and reliable AJ6 4.0-litre straight six engine. The bodies were also galvanised for longevity, and the interiors received better quality fittings.
For various internal reasons, for two years the early facelift cars retained the stylish chrome bumpers of the previous generation. This mix of old and new is popular with enthusiasts and adds to the appeal of this very tidy 1993 convertible. It is a very rare 'triple black' car with matching paintwork, interior and roof.
XJS aficionados will note that it presents well in the photos in the usual check areas of arches, sills and floors. The current MOT bears this out, showing no advisories for structure or otherwise.
