Significant mechanical overhaul in 2021 including exchange gearbox and clutch kit
Rear box chassis replaced approximately 2024
MOT valid until June 2027
The Appeal
The Defender 90 TD5 sits in a special standing for Landie aficionados. Powered by a characterful and remarkably tough 2.5-litre five-cylinder diesel plant, the TD5 represented the final significant mechanical evolution of the original Defender line, bringing it into ever-more usable, eminently drivable territory. They're still every bit as useful as ever they were, and offer a uniquely versatile modern classic to those seeking it.
This 1999 example has been in the current owner's hands since March 2009, when it was purchased from Dunsford Land Rover in Bath with 46,400 miles on the clock. Over 17 years of ownership, it has benefited from considerable investment. A respray in Niagara Dark Grey Metallic was carried out in 2021, alongside an exchange gearbox, new clutch kit, power steering pump replacement, and new drive gear.
More recently, the rear box chassis was replaced around 2024 - a significant spot of labour, which we think is testament to the vendor's dedication to the handsome 4x4. While there is no formal service history, repair receipts are available documenting the mechanical work and MOT maintenance carried out during the current ownership. It's a grand prospect, and if you're looking for a Defender, we think it'll be a very rewarding one.94df500b-72e9-4bed-9142-fc3c900037be.jpg1000.45 KB
