The Defender continues to resonate like few other cars. This was the logical evolution of the Land Rover, and for many was the ultimate conclusion of the legendary British off-roader. The TD55 era brought a smooth yet enduring 5-cylinder turbodiesel engine, which handled everything you'd expect of a Defender with ease; it was just as at home tackling rolling countryside as it was winding B-roads.
This 2005 TD5 pickup has reportedly covered just 66,080 miles from new, having been in the care of only two registered keepers. The first keeper held onto it for around 12 years before passing it to the current owner, who has looked after it for a further decade. Finished in deep blue with contrasting white wheels, we have to say it's a fine-looking machine.
The vendor notes that the vehicle was already very solid before a comprehensive three-day professional underside rustproofing treatment by South West Vehicle Rust Proofing in Westbury, which has kept it in good nick.
