The Appeal
All kudos to Mazda for producing arguably one of the most technologically innovative and left-field sports cars of the last 20 years. Even if you overlooked the clever twin-rotor rotary engine, fitting a pillarless four-door, four-seat layout, complete with rear-hinged rear doors, into an eye-catching coupe profile is seriously impressive.
All of that surely makes the RX-8, especially the scintillating 231bhp version, a future classic. Good examples are starting to stand out, and this 2005 car, in the Veolicity Red launch colour, is certainly one of them. It benefits from a long list of maintenance and servicing since the vendor acquired it in 2020. The work has included new paintwork, a rebuilt engine with only 20,000 miles on it, wheel refurbishment, suspension work and a new exhaust catalyser. The service history tells a similar story with regular attention by the same specialist up to less than 1,000 miles ago in April 2026.
With an MOT valid until April 2027 and 77,500 miles showing, this RX-8 merits closer inspection.
