Correct John Cooper Works specification confirmed with dealer certificate
Impressive service history
Two former registered keepers
Major service completed with two new tyres fitted
MOT valid until March 2027 with no advisories
The Appeal
The John Cooper Works R53 remains one of the most desirable hot hatches of its era. With a supercharged 1,600cc engine producing 200hp and a six-speed manual gearbox, the JCW package elevated the already spirited Cooper S into a genuinely rapid machine - one that continues to attract a devoted following.
This 2005 example has passed through just two former registered keepers and has clearly been kept very carefully by them, with only gentle signs of wear that defy the car's twenty years. Spirited, fast on its feet and accompanied by an MOT valid until March 2027, it's a very compelling modern classic that's well worthy of attention. dsc09307.jpg792.95 KB

✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
