The Appeal
Lightweight aluminium bodywork and a supercharged 400bhp 4.2L V8 make the classically-styled X350 Jaguar XJR an agile and serious M5 and supercar chaser. In 2007 Jaguar dialled up the appeal with the Portfolio edition, a high specification version that was only available to 100 UK customers. Each one featured Midnight Black paintwork, aluminium mesh interior trim, aluminium exterior vents and 20in Callisto five-spoke alloys.
This facelift X356 is one of them. It has covered just 57,000 miles in the hands of only four keepers. The current one acquired it in early 2024 and tells us that it has been very reliable, only requiring an electrical sensor repair as part of ongoing maintenance. The condition reflects the mileage. The car has been recently valeted, so shows some polish marks in photos.
The current MOT runs to August 2027. The certificate shows some points to note, but its length means there is plenty of time to address them if the buyer wishes. Brutally fast and with its very rare specification, this tidy XJR is a chance to enjoy one of Jaguar’s best. As an added bonus, the appropriate private plate comes with the car.
The vendor says:
“It is a dream to drive. V8 engine is a delight - it purrs along and can shift if you put the foot down.”
