The Appeal

Refined, practical, and one of the best-styled Mercedes of modern times, these qualities explain why good W209-generation CLKs remain popular. They’re the sophisticated, comfortable alternative to obvious German alternatives. The CLK280 is fitted with the firm’s M272 230bhp 3L V6 and, on this car, combined with the pong-legged 7spd 7G-TRONIC automatic box.

This CLK280 is a ‘Sport’ trim model, so it has the 18in five-spoke AMG alloys and a more sporting exterior body kit. Inside there are black sports seats. The car is in very good order thanks to the care of its handful of keepers and very low mileage. It looks far younger than its 19 years.

The history file tells a similar story, with regular servicing by main dealers and the same independent specialist in recent years. The last service was in 2024, less than 2,000 miles ago.
