The Appeal

Shaving half a tonne off the L322’s gross weight with a new Range Rover that was bigger and wider than its predecessor was no small achievement. Key to that weight saving, and resulting improvement in agility, was the extensive use of aluminium. The new material eradicated the bugbear of older models, namely rear arch corrosion, while innovations like Active Lean Control, pushed the new Range Rover right to the front of the 4x4 capability charts.
