The Appeal
Mercedes’ answer to the all-conquering 911 Turbo took a while to arrive, but when it did it was worth the wait. The AMG GT was the Affalterbach tuner’s second stand-alone sports car, after the ultra rarified SLS55, and it took a thoroughly clean-sheet approach to challenging the Porsche. A muscle-car profile, brutal front mid-engined 4L Biturbo with the turbos set into the ‘V’ and a transaxle layout all gave buyers something thorough different and very, very good.
Only a couple of thousand AMG GTs were sold in the UK. This attractive Brilliant Blue car was first registered in 2016 and has covered just 27,000 miles since. We’re told that it has been meticulously maintained in the intervening decade.
The condition is impressive, particularly the stand-out two tone red and black interior.
