History:
After World War 11 Bristol Cars bought Frazer Nash. DA Aldington of Frazer Nash had been responsible for negotiating the pre-war BMW concession awarded to AFN ( Frazer Nash). With his post-war army connections and with help from the War Reparations Board he managed to obtain the rights to three BMW models and the BMW M328 engine. When Bristol started making cars they produced a BMW, slightly modified, with improved handling and aerodynamic coachwork. This was the Bristol 400.
The 401 model was slightly more powerful and with a sleeker body designed by Touring. They were beautifully engineered and in their day they were highly sought after for they quality and performance. They are rare with only 611 examples produced for the worldwide market.
Finished in Brooklands green with cream leather interior. It is mechanically sound and drives very well. The Bristol engine pulls well and the steering is positive and lighter than you might expect.
Some would want to improve the paint whilst others may enjoy the car as it is.
