An immaculate left-hand drive 300CE Sportline in Midnight Blue with grey leather.
This has been my personal car for the last 2 years and, taking advantage of it being left-hand drive, I recently toured Germany and Austria in it, covering around 5000km very enjoyably.
Delivered new to Monaco in June 1993, this 300CE was nicely specified with the Sportline option, comprising stiffened suspension, wider wheels and tyres, faster steering and a smaller steering wheel, ASD (auto locking differential), leather upholstery and air conditioning.
From Monaco, the car seemed to spend most of its life in Northern Italy, in the Milan/ Turin area, apart from a year or so spell in London, Kensington around the year 2000, before returning to Italy then coming back to the UK in 2019 after a number of years in storage.
Throughout 2020 I carried out a programme of renovation on the car, including a new head gasket together with a cylinder head rebuild, all fluids and filters, new (Sportline spec) dampers all round, refurbished wheels with all new tyres.
As a result, this is a very nicely sorted car now that drives beautifully – it’s very tight and handles extremely well.
Having spent the majority of its life in the kinder southern European climate, this 300CE is rust-free with superb paintwork. The interior is in excellent, original condition, right down to the original radio.
All original books/ manuals including the service book. Full service history with 13 services recorded, a folder of paperwork, ‘birth certificate’ from Mercedes and all keys including the valet and wallet keys.
A perfect car for European jaunts. It’s very hard to find 124 coupes as nice and sorted as this car today.
