This very limited‑edition version of the already distinctive Smart Roadster is offered in exceptional or near‑unrepeatable condition. Number 32 of just 50 produced, it has covered only 15, 874 miles from new and has been dry‑stored within a fine private home in Cambridge since 2011, sparing it the usual wear associated with these characterful micro‑roadsters. The RCR 50 represents the finalised road‑going interpretation of the remarkable V6 concept car unveiled by Brabus in 2003, lightly distilled into a rare and highly collectable production model.
Weighing just over 830kg and powered by a turbocharged three‑cylinder engine, this example retains all the hallmarks of a cult lightweight sports car: open roof, torque‑rich delivery on corner exit, rear‑engine balance and rear‑wheel‑drive agility. The six‑speed automatic gearbox is well suited to the car's dual personality, offering effortless progress in town while providing a more engaging experience on open roads when the driver opts for the weighted, sequential‑style manual shift, or steering wheel paddles.
Visually, the Roadster's low‑slung stance has aged with remarkable grace. The blistered arches, staggered raw‑aluminium wheels, coupé‑inspired silhouette and Morette‑style headlights present with a sharpness, and keen 'grin' rarely seen today. Brabus's attention to detail is evident throughout, not least in the red‑stitched leather interior, which in this example remains in outstanding, virtually unmarked condition.
A future classic already rising strongly in interest, the Brabus RCR 50 offers unmistakable styling cues and period character reminiscent of far larger and currently very desirable icons of the era. With its compact footprint, rarity and unmistakable presence, it delivers the visual drama of a miniature supercar - a compelling and increasingly sought‑after addition to any modern collection.
Further enhancing its appeal, the car has just been MOT'd and freshly serviced, ensuring it is ready for immediate enjoyment by its next owner.
