Lot 950
A 1927 Talbot 14/ 45 DHC with dickey, body by W & G Du Cros
Reg No. YU 8665.
Car No. 23293.
Engine No. AD1357.
Green and black with black interior.
Georges Roesch, a Swiss automotive engineer, worked under Louis Coatalen in the 1920’s at the Talbot Motor Works in Barlby Road North Kensington, to develop an innovative six-cylinder push-rod engine. The resulting Talbot 14/ 45 engine went into production leading to a successful run of over 10000 cars.
This rare example has an unusual history in that it is an amalgamation of this body with a chassis once belonging to a 14/ 45 Talbot Tourer. The work was carried out at the end of the 50’s. A comprehensive history file demonstrating the restoration process is included with this lot.
