Ford Escort Mk1 2 Door running, driving MOtd car but with room for improvement. This car was first registered in Scotland in Aberlady to a lady who kept it for many years. Its now had only 4 owners and covered 65000 Miles. The current owner has had it nearly 10 years and has always had it MOTD, rather than running it as historic.
Body - Mk1 2 Door shell. Has had repairs in the usual places over the years, strut tops, floors, boot wells. As mentioned its had a proper MOT every year so its currently solid. The repairs are MOT standard rather than restoration standard. The car is its original dark blue colour with the white band being added at some point. The bottoms of both doors have the paint flaking and bubbling and will need attention. Paintwork is scruffy and if you want a minter your definitely into a paintjob.
Mechanics - Car, starts runs and drives fairly well to be fair. Its a 1600 crossflow which was rebuilt about 20 years ago , it has a 1300 head, higher compression, mild cam and twin 40s. 5 speed gearbox fitted. Bit lumpy when cold but when it warms up pulls well. Gearbox, clutch and brakes are ok and car can be used as it is.
Interior - RS steering wheel, uprated front seats, original back seats. Good door cards and headlining.
Wheels - 7 inch Superlite style wheels with either two big an offset or too high a profile tyre as rub arches on full lock or if you had a car full of bodies.
Can be used as it is but really needs someone to show it a bit love and take it to the next level, but its about as cheap as your going to get a 2 door MK1 running, driving and MOTd these days.
