The Appeal

The Citroën Traction Avant ranks among the major models in French automotive history. Launched in 1934, it notably helped popularise front-wheel drive and monocoque construction. The 11B, equipped with a 1,911 cc four-cylinder engine, represents one of the most common versions in the range.

This 1954 example is presented as an original car, painted in black and retaining its period burgundy and grey leatherette upholstery. Stored in a garage, it has recently benefited from some mechanical work, notably replacement of the fuel pump and battery. New carpeting has also been fitted and the seller indicates that the headlining is in very good condition.

However, several points warrant consideration: slight surface corrosion, non-perforating, is noted on the front of the chassis, the steering has slight play and the fuel gauge is defective. A full service is also recommended. Registered in France with a classic car registration document, this Traction thus retains several interesting original elements.
