Highlights
- One of only 9 Black Stone manual T-5R saloons produced for the UK market
- Only two former registered keepers
- One-family owned from new until approximately 2021
- Serviced at Volvo during previous ownership
The Appeal
The 850 T-5R is among the most revered performance Volvos ever produced. Developed during the marque's celebrated involvement in the British Touring Car Championship, the T-5R paired a turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing approximately 240 bhp with distinctive bodywork, 17-inch Titan alloy wheels and a sports interior. Production was strictly limited, and according to Volvo archive figures, only 9 Black Stone manual saloons were produced for the UK market, placing this particular car among a remarkably small group.
This example has enjoyed an unusually stable history. It remained within the same family from new until approximately 2021, with servicing carried out at Volvo throughout that period. The current owner has held the car for around five years. This T-5R is reported to remain entirely as it left the factory, retaining its original Volvo radio, floor mats, alloy wheels and spare wheel, along with two keys. For those seeking an unmodified, well-provenanced example of one of the rarest 850 variants, this is a compelling proposition.
