1963 Morris Mini Limo

Highlights

  • A well engineered stretched Mini
  • Seating for six, including driver
  • Recent service records

The Appeal

Minis are well known for coming in all shapes and sizes, a point proven to the extreme by this fabulous limousine. It is sure to bring smiles to the faces of onlookers and passengers alike and is certainly a memorable way to make an entrance.
This limousine was built for the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Mini at Goodwood, where it is said to have provided transport services for none other than Lord March himself – the owner of Goodwood and now styled as the Duke of Richmond.
With seating for five, plus the driver, this unique vehicle has been used as wedding transport and would make a great addition to any fleet of hire vehicles.

Or it could be perfect for a classic car enthusiast with a large family.

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered in 1963
  • Converted to limousine by CKK Historic Racing and Restoration
  • Appeared at Mini 50th anniversary event at Goodwood
  • 1,100cc engine
  • MoT and road tax exempt

The Interior

  • Well finished custom made interior
  • Seats, carpets and door cards clean and tidy
  • Headlining tight and presentable, with one tear
To the front, the interior of this Mini is similar to what you’d expect to see in any early Mini.

The sparse dashboard, centrally mounted instrument cluster and large speedometer are all features that we know and love. Two tone seats in blue and cream give this car an air of luxury and they appear to be very comfortable and supportive.
To the rear, the cavernous (by Mini standards) passenger compartment accommodates four more seats, with passengers able to face each other for a sociable journey. There is plenty of legroom to the rear and the interior trim appears to have been well finished.
The custom made headlining looks to be clean and tight, but does unfortunately have a small tear just above the front passenger seat. In the boot you will find the petrol tank, spare wheel and battery.
In all, this Mini’s interior looks to be in good clean condition, ready to impress again.

The Exterior

  • Vinyl roof, clean and blemish-free
  • Chromework and trim in great condition
  • Goodwood badge in pride of place
This car’s impressive size is complemented by the quality of its finish.

The ‘Everflex’ vinyl roof is splendidly clean and free from rips and scuffs, with its faux pramhood irons lending the car a touch of class. The paint on the lower section of the body appears to be in great condition, showing a deep shine worthy of any event.
And the team who built this marvellous Mini did a great job of making it all look right. The doors and their external hinges are correct for the age of the car and the body appears to have been solidly constructed, as a car with such a long wheelbase needs to be.

Underneath, there is the usual covering of surface corrosion. A repair was carried out in 2017 to the offside door and rear quarter panel, which looks to have been very neatly finished.
There are a number of nice touches to this car’s appearance, including the elliptical rear window and the ‘Goodwood Road Racing Company’ badge proudly displayed above the front windscreen.

The Mechanics

  • Recent mechanical expenditure
  • Well engineered by respected company CKK
  • Unbeatable parts availability
Powered by an 1,100cc A-series engine (one of the larger capacities available for a Mini) this limousine shouldn’t struggle to cope with a full complement of passengers.
Numerous invoices are on file which show that this Mini has been well cared for in recent years.

The braking system received new rear wheel cylinders in 2017, as well as being cleaned and adjusted.  The speedometer was replaced in 2017, so the mileage shown may differ from the car’s genuine mileage.

A service was carried out in 2018, which included an oil change and carburettor strip-down and tune. Ignition components were replaced in 2019.
With parts for classic Minis readily available, the next owner will be able to enjoy driving this limousine safe in the knowledge that any issues will be easily fixed.

Summary

This is not a car for those who shun the limelight. You will not fail to make an entrance wherever you go, with its brilliantly decadent styling.

It could make a great addition to a wedding fleet, or would suit a collector looking for something a little different.

And with the starring role it played in the 50th Anniversary celebrations at Goodwood, it represents a fascinating part of the Mini story.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
