The Appeal

Introduced as a new flagship for the Dodge product range, the Monaco was a shining example of a full-size luxury car for the spirited era of the '60s. The main push for the Monaco was to keep things sporty and stylish for the well-to-do. It wasn't meant to be an ordinary land yacht - the car's enormous range of big-block V8s meant that it offered respectable speeds and plenty of muscle for the younger executive-level generations.

This rare right-hand drive example was originally based in South Africa, and owned by the Tollman family - the legendary hotel and Tollman Tower lineage. Since then, it's spent some time in Bert Scheepers' legendary car collection, joining over 200 exemplary vehicles.

In recent years, the car has been recommissioned with a full service, brake overhaul, and more. It's now ready to return to the road, still carrying the original baby-blue livery that captures the Monaco's subtle curves and imposing proportions.
