The Appeal

Following Triumph’s re-entry to the 350cc market, the Tiger 90 was introduced as a “baby” version of the sporty 100SS model.

As the name would imply, these dependable bikes are capable of achieving a top speed of 90mph in ideal conditions.
Today, very few of these models exist, with the 90 model being somewhat of a hidden gem, appreciated only by true enthusiasts. In addition to performing without faul, this particular example stands out from the crowd, boasting a striking paint job and original metalwork.
This bike is certainly a tasty slice of motoring history, and would make the perfect addition to your collection.

The History and Paperwork

  • Restored in 2010
  • Dry stored since 2012
  • Well maintained
  • Plenty of paperwork
  • 1 former keeper
With a bike this old, one could easily fill a small library with possible tales from the vehicle’s past.

With just one former keeper noted on the V5, it is safe to assume that the vehicle has certainly been treasured over the years, and was rather well preserved.
After acquiring the bike in 2008, the current keeper decided that this Triumph Tiger 90 deserved a spot of TLC, and restored the historical bike to the state in which you see it today.

Being an avid motorcycle enthusiast and well seasoned with classic motorbikes, the current keeper has done a fantastic job at preparing this bike for the next stage of its life.
Following its restoration, this Triumph saw the roads for just two years, before being dry stored as part of a collection. Now, the vehicle is looking for a new home, where it will hopefully see more use, and receive the same high level of care.

In addition to the bike being in full working order, buyers will also be pleased to know that this Tiger comes with a great collection of paperwork. Included are MOT certificates for the vehicle’s time on the road following its restoration, as well as invoices for parts and labour.

Also present, are photos detailing the restoration process, and the V5C document ready for the lucky new owner.

The Exterior

  • Classic orange and white paint combination
  • Restored, yet retains original metalwork
  • Excellent condition
  • A real head-turner
This Triumph is in excellent condition and looks fantastic, despite being nearly 60 years old.

As the bike was previously restored in 2010, it now sports a striking orange and white paint combination, which never fails to attract the admiration of onlookers.
As the current owner opted to retain the original metal work throughout the restoration process, this Triumph is still packed with character and is a fantastic ode to its original state.

As a result of this, there are of course a few visual defects noticeable on the mudguards, but certainly not enough to detract from the overall charm of this bike.

There is also a minor amount of staining on the fuel tank near the cap but otherwise, this Tiger is in fantastic condition.
All badging, details, and lights are in excellent condition, with no noticeable signs of wear & tear to report. The bike also benefits from a new seat, which has of course hardly been used since the vehicle was restored.
Overall, this is a simply stunning motorbike and will no doubt fill the new owner with plenty of pride upon each glance.

The Mechanics

  • Full working order
  • 350cc engine
  • Electronic ignition
  • Upgraded charging
  • Harrison headlight
  • Treated to plenty of new parts
As mentioned above, this Triumph Tiger was restored by the current keeper in 2010.

As part of this process, the bike was treated to a vast array of new parts, including a new chain & sprockets, and new wheel bearings.
Older motorbikes are notorious for having the headlight efficiency of a tea light but worry not, as this bike has since been fitted with a much brighter Harrison headlight. For greater dependability, the bike was also fitted with electronic ignition, and an upgraded charging system to suit.
Despite having only been used for the two years following its restoration, this bike still starts up without fault and performs brilliantly.

If you’re looking for a well-maintained classic bike to enjoy the sunshine with, in a hassle-free manner, this is the one for you.

Summary

Buyers are presented with the rare opportunity to own a truly historic motorcycle, in the form of this gorgeous Triumph Tiger 90.

The bike has clearly been well preserved over the years, benefits from a restoration in 2010, and requires absolutely nothing to be enjoyed by the lucky new owner.
Whether you’re looking for the next addition to your collection, or simply fancy another toy for the upcoming summer, this bike should be at the top of your list.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
