THE APPEAL
With its grin-inducing handling and cheeky styling, the MG Midget is one of the all-time most-enjoyable of British classics, backed-up with incredible owners’ club and spares support and super-cheap running costs.
As a hassle-free and entertaining way into classic car ownership, the diminutive sports car has a huge amount going for it, not least that it also doesn’t take up much garage space.
This one is one of the most desirable Midgets you can buy – fitted with the 1,275cc engine and the most sought-after ‘round wheel arch’ bodywork, it’s the one to have as far as Midget fans believe – and with very good reason. Restored a few years ago and comprehensively improved, with a far more sumptuous interior than standard and the advantage of far more reliable electronic ignition, it’s a wonderful little car that needs for nothing. A great fun classic, ready to be enjoyed.

- The Red interior is all very good
- There is the addition of veneer door capping and dash facia
- Walnut-style dash
- The gauges all appear to function as they should, these are a full set of matching cream fronted period Smiths gauges.
- New carpets inside cabin and boot
- The boot space is fully carpeted including the spare wheel cover
- Period wooden steering wheel
- Retro-style USB/Bluetooth stereo beneath dash

THE EXTERIOR
- Tartan Red
- Older restoration in excellent order
- Uniform panel gaps
- Restored and rust-protected underneath
- No damage or evident rust
- The chrome is mostly very good save for a small amount of pitting on the rear 1/4 bumpers
- Very good canvas hood (fold down, not lift-off)
- The chrome wire wheels really set the look off
- They are shod with quality radials which haven't done many miles
- Good tyres all-round
- Clip-on rear-view mirror
- Beautifully presented
- The Red paintwork is in excellent order with no issues
- The gaps and panels are all as they should be.
- The Black convertible hood and foldable frame are in excellent condition.
- There is a half tonneau for when the roof is down.
