The VW bus is a true cult classic vehicle that in Campervan form is seen more and more at music festivals and country holiday spots around the UK.
With ‘staycations’ now being evermore popular there’s never been a better time to grab yourself a true motoring icon that should provide totally depreciation proof motoring and great sense of fun and adventure every time you use it.
The History and Paperwork
Built in South Africa
Imported and registered in UK in late 1990’s
Dry stored until restored with new chassis and many body panels
1 set of keys
MOT expires 23/03/2023
Recently fitted brand new kitchen with dual gas hob
Recent complete wiring loom
240v hook up and leisure battery
In good running order, having had a new carburettor, full wiring loom and brand-new full-size kitchen fitted in very recent years by the current owner.
Full size kitchen with stainless steel hob, sink and fridge
New floor covering
Pop-up tripod table
Rock and roll bed
Westfalia pop-up roof
The versatile camper interior provides plenty of variation from its fold down rock and roll bed, to the bench seating, with pop-up table and of course the fully equipped kitchen with a stainless steel sink, dual burner hob and built in fridge.
The kitchen and the flooring are recently fitted and have had very little use with only the headlining of the pop-up Westfalia roof looking its age.
The seat coverings are all pretty good with no rips or tears and up-front the simplistic black dash shows a bit of the van’s age but overall presents well, with a couple of gauges and switches which all work as they should.
A small point to mention is that the passenger door lock can only be locked from the inside.
The odometer shows only 17,101 miles but this is due to a recently replaced clock and there is no accurate record of the van’s history so its true mileage is unknown.
The red and white interior is in good overall condition and suits the van well providing the perfect cheery environment for those weekend or extended camping adventures, with plenty of storage space and cupboards and 240 volts when hooked up to an external power supply.
Beryl Green paintwork
Good condition wheels and tyres
Super stylish and eye-catching camper
Repainted at some point in Beryl Green from its original colour of red and white the campervan gets plenty of attention wherever she goes and looks in good overall shape.
As you get a bit closer there are some areas of bubbling paint in the usual places around some of the rear windows, the wheel arches and on the bottom of the doors but the bodywork and bumpers are free from any damage or dents with even the various pieces of external chrome trim showing only light pitting in places.
Regularly maintained and driven during current ownership
Mechanically the campervan is reported to start and run very reliably with excellent brakes all round.
A recent new carburettor and full wiring loom addressed the only issues the current owner was not 100% happy with, which also included replacing all the gear linkages to ensure positive and clunk-free gear changes.
The engine has been bored out from the standard 1600cc to a respectable 1835cc, which gives it a bit more torque and pulling power than usual to help you up those country hills.
A nicely fitted out example of the very sought after and iconic VW T2 Camper that is ready for that next adventure and making new friends wherever you decide to take it.

About Max Bids
The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.
£0 to £10,000
£10,000 to £50,000
£50,000 to £100,000
Automatically outbid immediately
When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours. You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.
Matching max bids
When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
Problem with your bid
Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
