The appeal
Using the 204 as a base, Peugeot preferred to evolve its existing range rather than embark on a total revolution with their new car. The new 304 was a remarkably clever piece of work, using a familiar platform to continue their current trend of first-rate Pininfarina styling and comfortable Euro-executive cabins.
The 304 was a huge success. Available in a range of body styles, these elegant cars became a common sight across Europe, South Africa and beyond. Like many of these incredibly successful cars, they were often pushed to the limit, quickly racking up the miles and losing bolts along the way.
This car is a rare exception. Bought new in 1976, the first owner sadly died just one day after delivery, with just 52 km on the clock. It was then stored for the rest of its life, until a restoration was undertaken at the dawn of the new millennium. Now, a remarkably original time capsule car is ready and waiting for its new owner.
