In 1977, the Silver Shadow was renamed the Silver Shadow II, mostly in recognition of several major improvements, notably rack and pinion steering, while modifications to the front suspension improved handling markedly over the previous model.
A distinctive feature was a high-pressure hydro-pneumatic self-levelling suspension system with added dual-circuit braking, which helped deliver that famous Rolls Royce ride comfort and quality.
