The Austin Allegro is an iconic piece of history for the British car industry. Selling modestly, not everyone had one, but most remember the Allegro. Its iconic shape coupled with revolutionary technologies for the time such as Austin's Hydragas suspension led it to be loved by many.
The Allegro 2 benefits from additional features over the 1 such as; reversing lights, a new grille and also improved space for the rear passengers. Available in varying trim levels and gearbox configuration, there was an Allegro for everyone!

The interior of this Allegro is in excellent condition considering its age. With a matching bronze / brown velour interior it really works well with the paintwork. All of the seats and carpets are in very good condition without rips or tears.
Additional floor mats stored in the boot are also in excellent condition. The door cards and dash plastics are in good condition without cracking or signs of wear that you might expect with the given age. The headlining is original and in good condition overall with some slight marking towards the edges. The interior as a whole has been very well looked after with all original trim present.

Whilst many Allegros were forgotten about, this example has certainly been remembered and very well looked after throughout its life. The service documents show with regular maintenance, low mileage, care and affection that this Allegro is a stunning example. With Austin Bronze chosen as it's colour when originally purchased it certainly doesn't struggle to catch the eye.
The vendor states that it has original body panels with original alloys. The number plate will be retained by the owner and is not included with purchase of the car. It will however be available to be purchased separately by negotiation if required. Very well looked after original paint with a few chips and blemishes on the doors and roof.

Mechanically this vehicle has been well maintained and this is shown with the absence of any engine knocking, smoke or other tell-tale signs.
The car drives and stops well with good acceleration. The seller informs that any maintenance requiring parts has been done with original British Leyland / Austin parts and the work carefully carried out. Also including in the sale of the car is a Hydragas suspension pump, used for bleeding the suspension system, this is a useful addition as not all workshops may possess this equipment.
If you are in the market for an Austin Allegro then this example should certainly be considered. It has been extremely well looked after during its life, covering under 22,000 miles and we are told it has been stored in a garage by all owners. Since being produced over 40 years ago it has only had 4 owners, all of which have understood the importance of maintenance and originality. You will struggle to find such a well maintained, low mileage and original example.
