HIGHLIGHTS
- The ultimate 1970s tourer
- Original colour scheme
- Well presented
THE APPEAL
During the 1970s and 1980s, the new era sportbikes were gaining a lot of attention in the marketplace with their high performance and sleek looks, but there was still a huge demand from riders wanting something with comfort that still had large amounts of power. This is where Yamaha came along with the brute of a machine known as the XS1100 (XS Eleven). The massive 1100cc engine gave 95hp, which, coupled with the high riding position, made for the perfect straight-line touring bike.
This 1978 Yamaha XS1100 came to the vendor several years ago to pay off an outstanding debt. Since then, the bike has been refurbished to its original condition with great attention to detail, ensuring everything is as it should be. Since the restoration was completed, the bike has yet to be started, leaving it ready for the new custodian to take over the reins of this 70s classic.

SUMMARY
It is probably one of the most comfortable touring bikes to come out of the 70s-80s. The Yamaha is a fantastic bike which, although quite weighty, soaks up the road with ease and is a pleasure to ride, bridging the gap between a sports bike and a tourer.
