The Background
Originally launched in 1965 this two tonne car holds the road well and is the ultimate luxury cruiser. Inside the cabin is more or less silent as you drive along the road.
Over the years with the newer models, the steering and suspension were improved for better handling. Power assisted disk brakes all round were added to improve performance and stopping power. With ample space inside, complemented with plush leather seats, and a superb high up driving position, you have the feeling of comfort, safety and style.
A Beautiful example of a big Luxury Car The Silver Shadow mark 2 is a beautiful example of British quality and luxury motoring.
The current owner has had the car for the last 8 years and has lavished it with much love and attention. Having been in the care of waterside classics for significant aesthetic work costing in the region of £15,000 the vendor firmly believes it is the finest example of its kind in the country.
The car has been kept in a heated garage for thé last 2 months and the owner has noticed that the odometer has slowed . It does need to be freed . However, this does not affect the current mileage.
There is a significant amount of receipts and paperwork available with an impressive collection of MOT certificates and receipts for work carried out on the car along with the V5 registered to the vendor.
It's also got a fresh MOT valid until the 10th of November of 2022.
As you open the door you are met with a beautiful smell of leather and luxurious comfortable seats and fully adjustable front arm rests. The carpets are reasonable and the dashboard and clocks are in very nice condition.
There are some signs of wear on the driver's seat but nothing too bad considering its age. The carpet shows some signs of wear around the driver's footwell area. Some age related damage to the wood trim in some of the top door trim.
It must be one of the best colour choices for this superb car!
Looking at the body panels there are no signs of dings or dents. The paintwork is very nice all round and had from what we can tell a full repaint and also new sills, arches and inner wings. The chrome grill and chrome all round looks fantastic and really compliments the colour of the car. All the wheels and tyres are in good condition with a good tyre tread all round.
There are some very small marks on the bonnet, two small stone chips, and at the rear of the car, above the silver shadow badge a small rust bubble under the paintwork.
On close up inspection there appears to be some paint ingress on the rubbers around the windows, but not noticeable from 2-3 feet away.
As you would expect from a Rolls Royce the engine bay is a work of art. The sound of the six litre V8 engine sounds fantastic. The engine bay is clean and tidy and it looks like a well serviced engine overall. Solid in construction and appearance.
All electrics have been overhauled , wheels been aligned, brake and hydraulic fluids serviced during engine service in April 21, It has also a new battery , new starter motor, replacement heater unit. The seller also fitted a complete manual kill switch in the boot which is utilised when the car is laid up in the winter, while garaged is always kept on a trickle chargers.
As we didn't have access to a ramp, the underside could not be fully inspected but given the work done by Waterside Classics, we can only assume it is tip top.
