European supplied before being exported to the USA
Fantastic colour combination of white over recently reupholstered red leather
Reportedly running and driving immensely well
The Appeal
If you’re a moustachioed private eye in Hawaii in need of some wheels, or else simply have a penchant for mid-engined Pininfarina Ferraris, we can heartily recommend this Europe supplied 308 GTSi. With a fuel injected 2926 cc V8 engine coupled to a ‘dogleg’ gated five-speed manual gearbox, this Ferrari offers an exciting driving experience. The unusual and rather fetching colour combination of white over red looks fantastic and is in keeping with its unashamedly ‘80s aesthetic.
Presented in very good and largely original condition, with Swiss service history and current Czech registration for the past thirteen years, we’re assured it is ready to be used and enjoyed.
The History and Paperwork
Supplied new to Europe although exported almost immediately to the USA
Returned to Switzerland in 1986
Accompanied by some Swiss service history
In present ownership for the past 13 years
Collection of registration and servicing paperwork present
The Interior
Red leather interior
Retrimmed in previous ownership
Nicely presented
The red leather upholstery looks fabulous against the white exterior and having been retrimmed is in fantastic condition. There’s barely any wear to be seen and this includes the seats, which look to have seen little use since they were recovered. The carpeting too looks great, with no heavy wear at all. There’s some slight patina to the controls, with the throttle pedal rubber having worn through on one edge.
All the instruments appear in great condition, as do the switches which exhibit some very slight wear. A Ferrari branded Blaupunkt stereo looks fabulous and this car is also equipped with air conditioning.
The Exterior
Smart white paintwork in very good overall condition
Straight bodywork
Impeccably presented underside
Aftermarket alloy wheels
Removable roof panel
The 308’s Pininfarina styling is a favourite amongst enthusiasts and even to the uninitiated, its silhouette is instantly recognisable as a Ferrari. White really suits it and serves to highlight the black trims and the distinctive yellow Ferrari badges.
The paint finish looks to be really smart for its age and the bodywork is really straight too. Underneath, it looks to be in fantastic order with no sign of corrosion, damage or even much in the way of road grime. All the trim, lights and glass present well, as does the removable roof panel.
The Mechanics
Mid-engined
Fuel injected 2926 cc transverse V8 engine
‘Dogleg’ gated five-speed manual gearbox
211 horsepower advertised by Ferrari
The vendor informs us that this Ferrari’s V8 runs smoothly, benefitting from its fuel injection system with no untoward noises or smoke. The engaging gearbox is said to shift really nicely without any rough spots. We understand that the car has always been well maintained and it certainly presents really well under the engine hatch. It is reportedly wonderful to drive, with great handling and string acceleration.
Summary
This distinctive 308 GTSi is a great example and it’ll look great amidst any collection. Presented in really usable and largely original condition, it’s sure to turn heads wherever it goes.

About Max Bids
The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
Anti-sniping
Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.
Matching max bids
When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you\'re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
