This 300 SL is a beautiful example of a Mercedes R107, which remains an ever popular mainstay in the world of classic Mercedes. It is smart in its Ivory paintwork and the Brazil Sports Check interior upholstery complements this perfectly.
The car comes with an enviably sized history file and the vendor reports that it benefits from recent servicing, including a suspension overhaul and a brake service.
In all, this is a car which will provide its next owner with the chance for some enjoyable open air motoring. It benefits from legendary Mercedes-Benz design and build quality and features the desirable straight-six engine which is known to go on forever.
All gauges, switches and accessories work as intended
Smartly upholstered in leather and checked cloth upholstery, the Brazil Sport Check gives the interior of this Mercedes a stylish finish. It appears to be in very good condition, with no obvious signs of excessive wear or sagging. It has clearly been well cared for and used respectfully.
The dashboard remains in good condition, with its veneer looking smart and free from delamination. The top of the dashboard appears to be free from UV damage, with the gauges and switches remaining bright and clear.
To the rear, the spacious boot compartment is carpeted and features full size spare wheel and original first aid kit.
In all, the interior of this 300 SL is in lovely condition, even down to the polished chrome finishing plates on the ends of the doors showing hardly a blemish at all.
Resplendent in its fetching Ivory livery, this Mercedes looks very smart on the road. The colour isn’t one we often see on modern cars but we think it absolutely suits this SL.
The finish is excellent the only blemish reported by the vendor is a small chip on the front right edge of the bonnet, next to the grill. This is very small and does not, in our opinion detract from the overall good condition of the paint throughout. There are of course a few other small age related blemishes, one of which is the soft top lid pin that goes into the hole.
There are no reported issues with the bodywork, and no historic damage to the car. We are told that it has not needed any welding and that the underside of the vehicle is in good condition, without any damage or corrosion.
The alloy wheels are very smart and show no signs of damage we could see. The vendor reports that the Pirelli P6000 tyres are in good condition and still have healthy amount of tread remaining.

Straight-six engine with Mercedes’ high build quality
Featuring a three litre straight-six engine, the SL 300 is a smooth-running and powerful motorcar, producing 187 bhp. This is enough to be able to drive the car happily in modern traffic, without worrying that it is being pushed hard.
The accompanying history file details the service history of this car, with plenty of stamps in the service book from both Mercedes-Benz dealers and independent garages.
The vendor informs us that the car has received a suspension overhaul, including Billstein shock absorbers, and new springs all round. The brakes have reportedly received new pads and discs and the automatic transmission fluid has been changed.
It currently has an MOT certificate which is valid until March 2023, but the seller has said the the car will be provided with a new MOT upon sale.
Overall, this is a very appealing example of an SL 300. It is in a fetching and unusual colour scheme, with a fabulously upholstered interior. Truly, this is a car to be seen in.
The extensive history and recent mechanical work will reassure the next owner that this car has been well looked after and should give many miles of enjoyable motoring.
