When it was launched, the Volvo P245 quickly established a reputation as a leader in safety. That's partly because much of its design was adapted from Volvo's safety-focused VESC concept car. These robust estate cars, as safe as houses, were built so rigorously that they set the benchmark for safety developments in the US.
Add to that an incredibly practical estate body, the proven B-series engine and the irresistible shovel nose... and you have one of the most respected cars of its time. Over 2,860,000 were produced during its career, and it's not unusual to still see them on the road.
This P245 is a particularly well-kept model, having had its engine replaced in April 2023. It still has many years ahead of it on its CT and, as you'd expect from any Volvo, it's a car that's as robust and highly efficient as ever.
