The Appeal
Often cited as the greatest ever hot-hatchback, the 205 GTI has become quite the legend. Both the sprightly 1.6 and the more torque-heavy but occasionally skittish 1.9 are now very collectible and often held up as the pinnacle of Peugeot’s heyday.
Of course, this iconic status means that great examples are few and far between, and many have been significantly modified over the years. So it is that we’re delighted to present this rather magnificent example for sale.
Fitted with the lighter and – some say – better to drive 1.6-litre powertrain, this handsome example was comprehensively restored, resprayed and mechanically refurbished in 2015. Having covered just about 5,000 miles since, it presents in excellent order with a comprehensive history file. It also benefits from an upgraded half-leather interior, sourced from a later ‘Phase 2’ car. In our opinion, all of this makes this delightful little hot-hatch a sure-fire winner. Frankly, you can’t let this one escape your clutches.

Summary
What could be more perfect as a daily classic than a well-sorted Peugeot 205 GTI? Not much, we reckon. And this one looks to have been very well restored and has been kept in excellent order since. For anyone that loves the feel of a classic hot-hatch, it just doesn’t get much better than this…
