The Appeal
The Bentley Azure; take a Continental R, remove the roof, stiffen the chassis and commission legendary Italian coachbuilders Pininfarina to aid in the conversion. The result, over two and half tonnes of pure rolling luxury that can hit 0-60 in under seven seconds.
It was the most expensive production convertible when it launched and it’s easy to see why. Powered by a turbocharged 6,750cc V8, with the finest most luxurious interior and an unparalleled attention to detail that easily justified its price.
The Azure is a great looking car that looks particularly fetching in metallic Peacock Blue. Having covered only 16,132 from new it’s in exceptionally good condition throughout and presents a fantastic opportunity to try one of the world's most luxurious convertibles.

The gorgeous interior is in fantastic condition as is to be expected with such a low mileage example. From the wooden trim to the deep carpeting the interior presents excellently and everythings works perfectly. The current owner has had a reversing sensor system and camera professionally fitted to aid in manoeuvring. The system uses an aftermarket stereo with a flip up screen and the original stereo is included with the car.

The big distinctive grille and lights is classic Bentley styling and present excellently. All of the chrome trim from the thin rear-light surrounds to the mirror like panels on the doors is in fantastic condition and this excellent condition is matched by every other aspect of the exterior from the soft-top to the badges, this is a car that looks as good as it goes.

It’s clear to see that this is a car that has not only been well cared for, but has really wanted for nothing. As with both the interior and the exterior of this car, its mechanical aspects all present very well. The engine bay is clean and tidy and the underside presents exceptionally well, looking more like that of a new car fresh off of the forecourt than one that is 24 years old.
It starts easily on a turn of the key and the 6.75l turbo V8 sounds fantastic with no unwanted or unusual noises. The owner reports that it drives perfectly and having covered so few miles, with Bentley build quality and full service history we’d expect nothing less.

The Azure is a car that stands out and for all of the right reasons, finished in Peacock Blue and in fantastic condition throughout this must be one of the best available.
