The Appeal
The T212 was part of a long series of 2-litre cars made by Lola for the European Sportscar Championships and is a Group 6 car making it eligible for hill climbs, sports car racing and endurance racing.
Built by renown South African Engineer and car builder Eric Booth of EBM Motors in Cape Town for race car driver Louis De Jager, this car has raced extensively from its time of build until 2022, competing and winning consistently, mostly at the world famous Killarney International Race Track in Cape Town.
If you’re looking for a well built, reliable and fast race car, or the perfect track day fun car, this Lola T212 Recreation might well fit that bill.
Built in 2000 from Lola T212 specification drawings
Competitively raced since build
Class winning car with many podium finishes and trophies
Race compliant and licensed till its last race in 2022
Built for performance and reliability the car is very competitive, reliable and more economical to race than the bigger sports cars, racing regularly and successfully during its 22 year racing career.
Currently dry stored the car also has a purpose built trailer and body moulds which are available by separate negotiation.
A minimal and basic race cockpit with all the instruments and equipment you need to go racing. Everything is reported to be in good working condition though it is all a bit on the scruffy side having been well raced during its years on the track.
Good condition body painted in a bright red and finished to match the Lola T212 Gigs von Lennep/Jackie Pretorious Kyalami 9 hour race livery
Some race wear scratches on the body but no real damage to be aware of
Rear spoiler
Rear view mirrors
Tinted front wind deflector/screen
5-spoke alloys which will need new tyres
Race lights
Good condition throughout
Consistently maintained and raced regularly there are some obvious signs of the car’s track and race use over the years as you look round the bodywork, but nothing to mention that would be of any real concern.
The bright red livery suits the car well and will certainly get you noticed on the track and in the pits as it looks and has the stance of a proper racing car.
The car starts and runs well with its light weight and 2 Litre engine making it a very competitive, reliable and economical car to take racing or for track use.
The gearing is currently set up for the Killarney Race Track with first gear reaching 143Kph. The car comes with extra closer ratio gears for alternative track set-ups or for hill climbing events.
Well maintained and looked after throughout its racing career the car is ready to go, though it will require some new tyres at the earliest opportunity.
A well put together and sorted Lola T212 that has been successfully raced since its original build back in 2000.
A very competitive car to take racing or for those private track events, this one has its own purpose built trailer which is available by separate negotiation. On your marks, get set, go.

About Max Bids
The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.
Anti-sniping
C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.
Auto-bidding increments
If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Automatically outbid immediately
When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours. You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.
Matching max bids
When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.
What are pre-bids?
A pre-bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.
Problem with your bid
Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
