Featuring a high specification and very attractive leather upholstery, the cabin of this XKR is a lovely place to be. The Ivory leather presents in very good condition for its age, the back seats appearing almost new and the front seats showing only slight evidence of wear (with a few light creases on the driver’s seat, as you’d expect).
Complementing the leather, the cabin is flush with gloss wood trim. It looks to be in excellent condition, with no signs of UV damage or cracking that we could see. There are a few very minor blemishes, but nothing that would concern us.
Beige carpets run through the cabin, and look to be in good condition. There is a stain to the carpet in the rear driver’s side footwell, but other than that it appears undamaged.
We’re informed by the vendor that all of the car’s features function as they should.
The metallic black paintwork appears to be in fine fettle, with a few age-related blemishes, the odd stone chip and some minor scratches, but otherwise presenting very well. There was no corrosion or damage that we could identify and the panels all look nice and straight, with factory gaps.
One of the car’s party pieces is that electrically powered fabric roof. Here it is in excellent condition, with no signs of tears, sagging or UV damage that we could see. The ivory vinyl tonneau provides a nice contrast too, and is likewise in good order.
Underneath, the car looks largely straight and solid, with no signs of damage we could observe. The waxoyl protective coating has been reapplied as well.
The car is still riding on its original 10-spoke, 18” alloy wheels, which present in nice condition, with no notable damage, and are shod in quality Uniroyal tyres that look to have good tread on them.
Offering up a fairly mighty 370bhp and 525Nm, the supercharged V8 in the XKR is a very capable and characterful engine. The engine bay here is very clean and tidy, with no evidence of leaks, overheating or any other issues we could see.
As with all XKRs, this car benefits from the CATS suspension system, which gives you uprated springs and adaptive dampers for a more compliant ride when cruising and more feel when pressing on.
We’re assured by the vendor that the car drives well, with no mechanical issues they are aware of.
Offering a fine combination of comfort, sporting prowess and luxurious appointments, this XKR would be a lovely way to get around. Presented with low mileage and in a desirable specification, this big cat is sure to become someone’s pride and joy.
