The Appeal
Jaguar's X-Type was initially released in 2002 with production running until 2009 with well over 300,000 examples produced. The X-Type was intended to go up against the German dominated compact executive car market of the early noughties. Initially the X-Type was offered with a range of V6 petrol engines and later would offer inline 4-cylinder diesel options.
The SE version would benefit as standard from additional chrome trim, automatic climate control, a trip computer and birds eye maple wooden trim, to name a few. The V6 petrol engines have proven to be the more desirable formats over time, derived from the well-regarded Ford Duratec engine.
With a desirable specification, the SE was a better-appointed model to do battle with its German rivals, a quoted 0-60mph time of 8.5 seconds means it was well equipped to hold its own against the competition!
